‘Code Of Ethics Can’t Stop Corruption’

Kofi Ofosu Boateng, NPP BA Communication Director
The Brong Ahafo Regional Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kofi Ofosu Boateng has stated that the code of ethics recently launched for ministers and other government appointees cannot stop corruption because NDC has always taken Ghanaians for granted.
According to him, the President, in his book “My First Coup d’état,” wrote that in his life all his decisions have been doubtful.
Mr. Boateng, speaking on Ark Fm in Sunyani, said there are institutions that tackle corruption so the President should give them the mandate to work.
If President John Mahama wants to fight corruption, he should walk the talk rather than the usual lip service, he stated.
He also used the opportunity to call on President Mahama to have mercy on the poor in society and reduce the taxes.
A member of the Brong Ahafo Regional NDC Communication Team, Samuel Gyamfi, in his submission, lauded the introduction of the code of ethics, which he said would go a long way to reduce corruption.
He was optimistic the President would use the code of ethics to reduce corruption in the country.
Mr. Gyamfi, who expressed concern about the implementation of policies in the country, called on Ghanaians to support the President to implement the code of ethics to tackle corruption in the country.
