2 NDC Goons Busted For Attacking Activists

Ben Kluvi, a popular National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist in Sunyani and his accomplice, Yussif Maha, a nephew of the Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer of the NDC, have been arrested for allegedly assaulting two members of the Communication Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the premises of a radio station in Sunyani.
The suspects, who were charged with physical assault and threat, were arrested on Monday after they allegedly brutally assaulted Maxwell Mahama and Kwame Baffoe on the premises of Space FM last Friday.
The police however confirmed to DAILY GUIDE that the two NDC hooligans had been granted bail pending further investigations into the matter.
Eyewitnesses informed DAILY GUIDE that Ben Kluvi and Yussif Maha stormed the radio station on a motorbike, shouted on top of their voices and threatened to deal drastically with the NPP Communication Team members who were discussing political issues on air.
According to officials of the radio station, the NDC refused to be part of the discussion as they indicated that they would not join Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye DC on any radio programme.
Eyewitnesses explained that the two NDC thugs were angered by accusations made by the NPP activists.
Reports said immediately Ben Kluvi saw Maxwell Mahama he pounced on him and gave him hefty slaps which landed him on the floor.
An attempt by the host of the programme, Oheneba Kennedy to intervene proved futile as the berserk NDC thugs hit him in the process.
The Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the NPP, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, who was informed about the attack, swiftly moved to the place and rushed the two NPP activists to the police station to lodge an official complaint where they were issued with medical forms to attend hospital.

“I personally took the two communicators to the hospital with their swollen eyes and bruises on their foreheads,” he said.
Mr. Asomah-Cheremeh indicated that he would pursue the matter to its logical conclusion to prevent future occurrences in the region.
Meanwhile, a press statement issued by the NPP Communication Team has condemned the attack describing it as barbaric.
The party also called on the Sunyani police to critically handle the case and allow the culprits to feel the full weight of the law.
A statement, signed by the Regional Communication Director, Kofi Ofosu Boateng, said while we all thought common sense and tolerance were prevailing in the political space in one of the potentially charged political hotbeds in the country, some supporters of the ruling party have once again proved us wrong.
“It was our belief that in the interest of peace and security in this country we had consigned to the bin barbarism, intolerance and puerile tendencies in the general body politic and in specific, atmosphere of political discourse, with much regret the reverse is rather the case,” the statement said.

‘God Will Punish Them’……Bishop Cries.

‘God Will Punish Them’……Bishop Cries.

The Methodist Bishop of Sunyani Diocese, Rt. Rev. Kofi Asare Bediako, has warned politicians and individuals who speak on radio using abusive words to desist from it because God will punish them according to the things that come out of their mouth.
He expressed his joy over the position of the judges of the Supreme Court to haul those who make unremarkable comments that can plunge the nation into chaos.
The Methodist Bishop was preaching on the theme: “Each one, Orders Keeper” on the second Sunday of July at the Wesley Methodist Church in Sunyani.
Picking his text from Matthew 5:22 which reads “But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister,’Raca’, is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell."
Stressing on the Bible reading, Rev. Asare Bediako further mentioned that anyone who call his brother “Raca” meaning useless will be punished by God. “Politicians who use these words against their opponents will face hell fire”, he added.
He noted that foul language which has taken centre stage in the Ghanaian politics can destroy the nation. He continued that Ghana is for everyone therefore, Ghanaians should not sit down and watch politicians to destroy it with the use of foul language because their tongue can plunge the nation to war.
The Methodist Bishop warned Christians to be mindful of the way they treat their neighbors and the children they stay with because they will be judged according to the words they use on people.
Present at the church service were the Superintendent Minister of Sunyani Wesley Methodist and Synod Secretary, Rev. Oswald Samuel Boakye, deputy superintendent, Kwaku Adomako Acheampong, out-going Lay Movement Chairman, Honourable Nathaniel Benjamin Nsenkyere and incoming lay chairman Mr. Jackson Adiyiah, President of Brong Ahafo Branch of Ghana Bar Association, William Oduro and Former Minister in the erstwhile Kufour Government, Honourable Kwadwo Agyei-Darko.

MP Worried About Abandon Road

MP Worried About Abandon Road

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, has expressed worry over abandon roads in his constituency capital and has promised to follow up at the Ministry of Roads to know why the contractor has abandoned the project.
According to him, the project was not on the budget that was presented in parliament and this has given him room to worry. He was however quick to add that if the government wants to execute the project they can do it on the special projects.
The MP who is also the Deputy Minority Chief Whip spoke to Daily Guide after he visited Odumase the Sunyani West District capital to see the progress on the road which was started by the NDC government in October 2012. He said the Minster of roads who was present at the sod cut ceremony promised to complete within three months from the day of the sod cutting.
Mr. Baffour-Awuah who complained about bad roads in his constituency called on the government to come to the aid of his constituents and help fix the roads. “My constituency has one of the bad roads in the country”, he retorted.

The MP used the opportunity to call on the people in his constituency to stay calm as he contacts the right authorities to help fix the roads.
He promised to meet the youth who had earlier threatened to demonstrate against the government and the District Assembly to talk to them to give him time to talk to the sector minister to address their concerns.
“I understand their frustration because my car nearly got stuck this morning when I used the road, but they should exercise patience”, he added.
Meanwhile, some residents of Odumase who spoke to Daily Guide said it is difficult for them to go out in the night because of the various pits the contractor has created on some parts of the roads. “It’s difficult for us to step out in the night especially when it rains because the place becomes muddy”, one resident who gave her name as Ivy mentioned.
Ms. Ivy who seemed worried about the progress of the road called on the contractor to come back and close the pits he constructed on the roads so they can move freely in the town without the fear of falling into the pits.
She called on the Assembly not to wait for their children to fall into the pits and die before they will do something about the road.
